Frederick County Sheep Breeders Association
Letter From the President:
Greetings!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new president of Frederick
County Sheep Breeders. I am Charlotte Dutton, and my family and I have lived in Mountaindale
(South of Thurmont) since 2003. We raise American Border Leicester Sheep, dairy goats, and
rabbits. I am also a fiber artist and a wood carver. It is an honor to have been elected as your
current president, and I am committed to supporting our organization and membership for the
length of my term in office.
To our current members: Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in our
many events throughout the year. I would especially like to recognize The Latham Family,
producer of one of Frederick county’s largest flock of show quality sheep, and in particular,
Kristen Latham, our continuing treasurer. Kristen’s dedication to her job at keeping our finances
straight, as well as helping organize many of our events, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you also to Rhiannon and Don Huscha who maintain our website. Please take a
few minutes to update your farm’s information on the website for 2026. This is your opportunity
to advertise, showcase, promote, and even brag a little about yourself, and what you have to
offer. Add photos and links to your website and social media. Many people contact me because
they have seen my page on the website! This benefit alone is worth our annual membership fee,
and if your membership has lapsed, or you are thinking about becoming a member, please
consider this advantage.
Thank you, as well, to our outgoing president, Mary Ellen Clark, Her and her family’s
continuing active role in FCSB is vital to the success of our vibrant membership.
Much more information on upcoming events will be coming soon. Until then Happy New
Year and Best Wishes to a prosperous 2026.
