About the farm
Star Gazing Farm is a small farm animal sanctuary that provides safe haven for abused, stray, and neglected farm animals. We have a strong educational work-based program for young people and work with many pre-veterinary students.
The farm also helps facilitate farm animal adoptions through our farmers' online rescue network that coordinates with with multiple animal control agencies, small farms and other animal sanctuaries to help find safe and loving homes.
Star Gazing Farm is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Contributions are tax deductible.
Star Gazing Farm participates in the Montgomery County Annual Farm Tour the last weekend in July.

Shroeder Shearing offers kinder, gentler shearimg & care for alpacas, llamas, sheep, lambs and goats. Hoof trimming, tooth trimming for camelids, help with deworming, and shots are also available. ASI certified shearer, professionally trained alpaca shearer, available in all mid-Atlantic states.

We are a family-operated farm, located in southern Frederick County, Maryland.

Our sheep and lambs -- we have 50 ewes and raise purebred Texel sheep, commercial Dorset sheep, and Dorset/Texel Crossbred sheep.

We have a small flock of Fullblood and Pureblood Dorpers that we hope will be competitive in and out of the show ring. We strive to have quality over quantity.

Chestnut Creek Farm was established in 2005 by Jeffrey and Jan White. The 64-acre farm located in Carroll County is compromised of rolling forested hills, flat lowland meadows, fields in production, a fish pond, and several streams. The majority of tillable acreage is kept in corn and soybeans using no-till farming.
The fields nearest the farmstead rotate between vegetables grown for the family and farmers market and legumes (to restore soil quality). Blueberry bushes were planted in 2007 and came into production in 2010.
A small fruit orchard comprised of apple, peach, pear and plum trees has been started.
We also raise some pastured turkeys that are available in November for Thanksgiving.

Rob and Jen own a diverse 25-acre farm in beautiful Woodsboro, MD. They raise Katahdin/Dorper sheep, beef cattle, and chickens. Jen is also growing and selling microgreens to the local community. Additionally, Rob and Jen have been planting 1,000-1,300 Christmas tree seedlings each spring with dreams of helping people make wonderful Christmas memories. They are currently heading into their fifth year of the first phase of planting.
Rob and Jen love to host farm days during lambing season to share with people about life on a farm and are active on social media year-round to do the same. They enjoy sharing pictures of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that gave their farm its name.
Lastly, they are always trying to learn better farming practices to include regenerative agriculture and organic living. They are eager to meet like-minded people and to learn from those with more knowledge and experience.
