10/12/2008      Catoctin Colorfest -- Lamb was a huge success

Once again the FCSB had successful sales of lamb burgers and lamb sausage sandwiches at the 2008 Catoctin Colorfest. Hats off to Mark Liberto for organizing this event, which is a major fundraiser for the association. Thank you to the following volunteers that flipped burgers and lamb sausage on the grill and kept the line of customers well fed. 9/17/2008      Decorated Lamb Contest & Shepherds Lead Contest - 2008 Frederick County Fair

This is a fun event at the Frederick County Fair, held Wednesday evening, 6:00 pm, Sept. 17th. Thanks to Robin Haines (Thistle Down Farm) for all her work in organizing these two events.

9/17/2008      Premier Exhibitor Awards for Open Class - 2008 Frederick County Fair

A new award was begun in 2007. The Premier Exhibitor Award is presented by the Frederick County Sheep Breeders to one Open Class wool breed exhibitor and one Open Class meat breed exhibitor. A banner is presented to the breeder who accumulates the most points in one of the Wool Breed Shows, and a banner is presented for the Meat Breed Shows. 9/14/2008      4-H Fitting and Showmanship Awards - 2008 Frederick County Fair

Congratulations to the following 4-H members who competed in the Fitting and Showmanship events. The Frederick County Sheep Breeders presented each of the four winners with a $25.00 gift certificate to Sheepman Supply Co.
